Logo Design - Consultation & Planning
At the start of this consult, the client knew they would like a soft, feminine design. They chose the name 'SOL' for their jewelry business and based their idea on an ornamental piece that their mother used to have at their childhood home.
Below, you can see the initial idea, rough drafts, color palette ideas, and even a 'Pick and Choose' section. During the consultation phase, the client wasn't too sure about how they wanted the face of the logo to look. So, in an effort to help them better visualize a style, I made an interactive game to help progress the project.
The colors chosen were done so to keep the initial rustic look of the sun, with its warm colors and earthy tones. We also ran through a number of different fonts before finally landing on a combination that complemented each other well.
Another important component that the client wanted was the addition of a gem piece or some piece of jewelry within the design.
While we were able to come to a consensus on the rays, we hit a wall with the client not knowing what direction they wanted the face to go in. Here is where the 'Pick and Choose' interactive game came in...
This interactive activity worked with me cutting out and dragging different elements onto the base to give us a better idea of the style on the face.

After working through some iterations, we landed on a final logo and color palette.
